Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar*

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder, sifted if lumpy

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted if lumpy

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

  • 3/4 tsp sea salt

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup canola oil or extra-virgin olive oil**

  • 2 Tbsp water

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions:

  • Preparation: Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper after lightly greasing it.

  • Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, mix granulated sugar, flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, chocolate chips, and salt.

  • Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk eggs, oil, water, and vanilla extract.

  • Combining: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  • Baking: Pour the batter into the baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out slightly moist.


Notes:

*Swap granulated sugar with brown sugar for a chewier texture.

**Use olive oil for a richer flavor or canola oil for a neutral taste.
